Member of the year
In the past we have had the SCCBC member worker award. Not long ago
we lost a valued and dedicated club member, Deryk Forster. Deryk
epitomized the definition of volunteer & club member, so it is in
his memory that we have created a new award, called the Spirit of
Deryk Forster Award, to be dedicated to those who generously donate
their time to our sport and club.
This trophy is a custom made award of a hand holding a stop watch on
top of a pillar which represents the tower that Deryk spent so much
time in. It must be noted that there is a wedding ring on the hand,
representing the fact that Deryk was not alone in his endeavours.
The watch symbolizes both the timing and scoring department that
Deryk headed for so many years, as well as the time that he spent at
the track.
