Tire Clinic; trackside race tire mount and balance
Mar 27th, 2013 at 1:47pm

Gentlemen,

As you may have heard Tire Clinic will be trackside for 8 of the 9 weekends scheduled this year offering mounting and balancing of race tires, amoung other services.

Our mobile workshop complete with the necessary machinery and tools, air hoses, compressed air and Nitrogen will be avaiable all three days of the April event, from the 12th to the 14th.

We also have factory deals with Hoosier and Goodyear racing division so next time you need a set of slicks give us a call, quotes are always free. Your new tires can be mounted and balanced at our Lanlgey shop or we can bring your tires to the track, match them up with your rims and take care of the mount and balance right there on the spot.

Have a few sets of rims and tires you need put together, no problem! At $15 a corner you can't go wrong, and the work will be done right before your very eyes. Right down to taping over the weights to ensure your tires continues to roll smoothly, we want all aspects of your wheels and tires covered.

All accessories are available from hub centric rings, to spacers and tuner lugs. Get your info to us ASAP and we can have them ready for you trackside.

See you soon.

This is awesome - I'll be stopping by at the first event to talk about a set of tires!

Cheers,

Nitrogen is just 4/5ths of air.  Its not what's in N2 but what is not in it.
Without water it behaves in accordance with the general gas laws, so heat in the tires causes predictable increases in pressure. If any H2O is in there, it will expand at about 500% more than the N2. You will not be able to set the pressures accurately. Any dry gas will work, N2 is the cheapest...
So endith the lesson Cheesy

Well said!

Consistant and predictable pressure will increase the usablle life of that tire. Consistancy is the catalyst for a whole array of benefits. For instance, by starting your run with tires already at the desired pressure you are able to get performance out of that tire earlier in your stint. As temperature builds it does not increase pressure in the tire anything like air. You get a more stable performance curve thats more predictable and that performance lasts longer.

Just ask your friendly neighborhood Formula 1 or Nascar team, they use Nitrogen!

Indeed, it was great to have you guys at the track and it appeared to work out OK for you.
Thanks for your help with my FF tires, they had been on the rims since you guys were in high school (kinder garden maybe!!).
Can you get 13" Toyos (185/205)?

It was great having you guys at the track. You did a small job for me with no charge. Thanks. Also a fellow racer had a set of tires mounted, balanced, and he was very happy with your pricing and service.
Thanks also for helping us out getting rid of our old tires from the track, and supplying more for tire barriers. Looking forward to working with you.
Thanks, see you at the track.

nitrogen is not as volatile to change pressure based on temperature as much as air, but it none the less is noticeably affected. The Boeing 737's i maintain average 15 psi greater pressure when the aircraft has just landed. Boeing specifies a 2 hour cool down period before taking tire pressure for accuracy. i wouldnt recommend to anyone to inflate cold nitrogen pressure to desired hot pressures. test and adjust. Are you offering vacuum evacuation of tires before nitrogen filling?
