Turn 2 sinking wall
Mar 8th, 2015 at 8:52am

Is the turn 2 wall sinking going to be addressed.
Last year when I headed up my last work party, I made it known to the 'senior' members, that this should be addressed,or that the West facing grandstand closed until it can be repaired.
The entire wall has sunk well below the racing surface, which could allow a fast car to go over the wall with the difference in elevation.

Track Advisory Committee issue ???

The track will be inspected by the ASN appointed track inspector, as is done every year. Areas of concern will be addressed and corrected to the satisfaction of the inspector.

So are you saying if an ASN safety inspector doesn't see it it's not an issue?
Can the club members see the report?
I have never been privy to see the report even when I was track operations chairman. I was merely instructed on what was to be repaired. Turn 2 tire wall was on the list one year and we did improve the tire wall greatly. However the difference in elevation is a much different issue.
My concerns stem from the fact that a car has got through that wall in the past and actually broke a block before the wall was reinforced

Shocking that now 352 people have read this in the past month, and no one else has a comment?

Tim;

It may be possible that everyone else has some faith in the track inspection process and don't agree with your point.

Tim maybe the reason no one has answered is because what you have been doing on the forum is more of a personal vendetta that no one wants get in the middle of if you are that concerned about the track come to the meetings and voice your concerns.
It's hard enough to get everyone on the same page and to be positive about the sport and the club.

Instead of bitching and complaining bring it to the meeting so we can stop all the bs.
Most of us just want to have fun doing what we enjoy. Smiley

Alan,
First of all I do not know you very well and I have no idea who SBR `1055 is.
I do not think any comments I have posted could be viewed as bitching or complaining. I am merely trying to get information about what is going on with the club, since I am no longer directly involved.

I think I have asked very clear questions about important matters.
If you disagree, that is fine with me.
I do plan to make every meeting, but seldom do. Maybe in May.
For the record anything that was posted in the minutes from the Nov meeting was very inaccurate and completely missing my point of view. Very one sided I think.

Also when i was on the Exec. I tried to answer any questions that members posted on here asap. We have club meetings to communicate info, formerly or maybe now again resurrected the Pit pass, Facebook, in person, at track, but this SCCBC forum has always been a key way for members to communicate to each other and for the Exec. to do so as well.

I will plan to get to the May meeting, but I doubt I will get any better answers there from the current exec.
See you there.
btw
Thanks for making a comment.

Hello. The sccbc executive strives to answer all question put forward by the MEMBERs in a prompt and forthright manner. Some issues are of a sensitive nature and need to be dealt with some discretion.  The turn 2 wall issue is a project that will be tacked in the upcoming off season.

That's what you said in Mar 2014. An entire year ago.
I would love to attend the next meeting, but I will be away.

Thanks to the club members who came out in the rain to place the debris fence on top of the rehabilitated turn 2 barrier. Final grading and  filling of the ground behind the the wall still to be done. Caution, the wall is now Approx 6 feet closer to turn 2.  Shocked
