WHO can become a member?

            Anyone – at any age.

WHAT is membership all about?

It is belonging one of the oldest Sports Car Clubs in North America, the oldest in Canada. Incorporated in 1951 as a non-profit society, the Sports Car Club of British Columbia is dedicated to the encouragement and promotion of motorsport and safe driving in British Columbia. The club is a member of Road Race Sanctioning bodies in Canada and the USA.

Our members are race drivers, crews, event officials, their families & friends, and fans in general. The demographics of race drivers and supporters include professionals, mechanics, tradespersons, office clerks, and students, and ages from 16 to 80 plus. A wide range to be sure. Members attend and vote at monthly meetings, help out at the track, sit on committees, edit the newsletter, assist in web site maintenance, etc.

Over the past several years membership numbers have exceeded 300. About 30 of those have enjoyed the benefits of membership for over 30 years. Family members include Mom, Dad and kids. Many of our drivers are supported at the track by Moms, Dad, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters & grandkids!

WHY belong to the club?

Many drivers join the club because belonging to an affiliated club is a requirement to obtain a racing licence. The majority stay with the club because they enjoy the bench racing as much as the on-track competition. Members find the camaraderie the most rewarding benefit of membership. It is common to find racers helping each other in their endeavour to be faster. The more competition – the better! The club seems to bring out the best in most people. They work harder for the common cause and are rewarded with a better place to race and great friends for a life time.

WHEN can I join?
You can join any time of the year. The membership period runs from December 1st to November 30th each year. Membership fees are not prorated for those joining during the middle of the year and are not refundable or transferable. Membership fees are set by the executive at the November meeting each year.

WHERE do I sign up?

You can attend any monthly meeting, the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Best Western Coquitlam Convention Centre on North Rd. near Lougheed Mall. The membership committee will be pleased to provide you with an application. Or you can download, complete and mail the application from the link on this page.
