January 12, 2000 Old Business--None ICSCC--Schedule set (see page 2) Transponder system proposal was passed at the last meeting and will be implemented this season but not mandatory until the year 2001. Drivers are encouraged to buy transponders now while a price break is being offered by the supplier. Battery operated or hard wired models are available. If you opt for the batter operated you could use it for more than one car in different groups. License's now $60.00US. CACC--Ed Smart spent 13 days in hospital over Christmas and is now recovering at home. (See report starting on page 1) VINTAGE- No report. RACE CHAIR--Perrin wished all a Happy New Year. CHARITY- Fraser Valley Cancer Institute, based in Surrey and serving all Fraser Valley is interested in working with us. Recommendation due from the committee next month. MARKETING- Posters & brochures are being planned for Feb. release. RDC- meeting to follow Feb. AGM. Driver Training is filling up fast. Entry forms are available from Mike Boyle. Price is $350.00, GST included. Enduro drivers met after the regular meeting to discuss longer enduros. MEMBERSHIP--92 renewed so far. Memberships must be renewed prior to Feb meeting in order to vote at AGM. TRACK OPS / VICE PRES.- Work party this Sat (15th) snow or not. Work parties likely every other weekend until racing starts. META will set up a refreshment stand for scheduled work parties. B.C. Custom Car Assoc. had their elections last Sunday. We now have to meet with their new exec to apply for approval of the proposed track expansion. Stand by for further news. The low laying area around the concession has been filled and graded, thanks to Ron Farmer of BCCCA. TRACK MANAGER- Rental rates under review with landlord. Bryan Hellevang looking at Fork lift motor-clutch needs repair. Axel bearings need work on the truck. PRESIDENT- Looking for a social director and a phone committee.
Transponders- we will help drivers who purchase units find renters to help with the cost. This system is capable of producing reports of every lap for every driver. It can be downloaded onto the web. SCCA have results of their enduro on their site. Porsche Club, Mazda, IRL, Atlantic & Speedvision series all use this system.
