Old Business: Charity--The club will support the Fraser Valley Cancer Drive for A Cure. We will donate the proceeds from a race event spectator gate, a minimum of $1000.00 ICSCC: The transponder system is in hand. The first 50 transponders have been sold. The first 200 purchasers will receive a $50.00 discount. See the ICSCC rule book for mounting rules. I believe "no further forward than the center line of the front wheel" is the deal. CACC: License discount in effect until the end of March. ISCSS licence holders receive 1/2 off. The first SCCA joint sanction race will be the end of April. Vintage: Preparations for May Historic Race are underway Race Chair: Preparations for 2000 season are well in hand M.E.T.A.: Good exposure at the Motorsport show. Ran ads in local papers for volunteers and have about 14 responses. Spent about $300 for ads and open-house. Soap box derby organizers need to borrow 3 car trailers to get cars up the hill after each run. They are selling "Gold" sponsorships for $1000. R.D.C. March driver training is full with reserves. RDC members see Mike Boyle to sign up for practice day duty. IWE, having fronted the prize money, is the Enduro Series sponsor along with Hawk Brakes who are offering a $750.00 contingency fund. Brakes must be purchases through Comptech. If Hawk see an increase in their market share the fund for 2001 will increase. Get out there and buy your Hawk brakes. Membership: 181 At this point in the year that is fabulous! T.O.C. Work parties continue. See report in this issue for details on jobs to be done. The club web page now has a T.O.C. section where you can up to date information. Brian H. has a line on another Bull Moose Fork Lift. (will they mate? Perhaps giving us a newer model, perhaps 50's or 60's?) Track Expansion: The Mission community development officer and Biologist have okayed our plans. Scale drawing is available for viewing.Hope to have pavement down by end of April or May. Additional blocks are coming from Molson Indy Vancouver. Those blocks are available for adoption folks. See the Want Ads page. Vice Pres. New biffy contract will save us about $250.00 per month. Cutting the track for the transponder antenae cost $200.00 Motocross grandstands can not be moved. We will have to look at other ways of addressing safety concerns in that area. Wallet calendars are now available. Pres: Ed Smart is assembling a computer for the new transponder system. Thanks Ed. Our meeting place is moving to the Executive Inn on North Rd. effective April meeting. The first block for our new extension as been adopted. Note the new web address: www.sccbc.net. Club wear is still available. See Mike K. Laurie Kaerne has agreed to be our event secretary, taking care that all the paperwork is done. Clarification of the duties of the phone committee. New Business: Discussion on wording for location of transponders. The ICSCC rule will be in effect for all events at Mission. The starters tower is scheduled for a paint job. Posters and flyers will be available for next meeting. Suggestions to use Rogers Cable and Global TV's free community service time for soliciting new workers. CKNW also has a freebee Saturday mornings. There is a car show the end of April at Tradex in Abbotsford. Indy: M.I.V. have asked us to submit a proposal for the sedan race.
