Conference (ICSCC) Report by Kevin Skinner · Cascade has purchased the AMD transponder receiving equipment but not the transponders themselves. Conference will be fully "transpondered" next year. CACC Report by Mike Currie · CACC's new web site is www.caccautosport.org. Suggested Rule changes requested. Vintage Report by Ian Wood · There was a "Sovereign" event recently. Legendary driver Phil Hill attended. Vintage event at PIR soon. Calgary will host an event in August. · "Historics" shirts available (T's - $20, Golf - $30). Race Chair Report by Perrin Hayes · Drivers are still not heeding flags. Last race was generally good. Thanks to all the workers (Marshals). Charity Committee Report by Dawn Rosenberg · Representatives for the FVCC were on site during the "Drive For The Cure" race on July 8, but not on July 9. FVCC will receive $1000 donation as promised. Some miscommunications made the event somewhat disappointing. More effort on the part of drivers during the "rides" is needed. META Report by Ann Peters · META had 18 members out for the Mission Soap Box Derby. An 11-year-old girl sponsored by Tim Horton's won the event. There was a good turnout from new people at the last race (July 8/9). Al Ores thanked META for the "Get Well" card. RDC Report by Mike Boyle · Practice was difficult with only 3 RDC members present. If you want to test in the future, bring people to work the turns. Membership Report by Hilda Randall SCCBC membership is at a total of 268 Molson Indy Report by Mike Kaerne (for Pam Stec) · Department heads are to turn in forms to Laurie Kaerne ASAP. Worker shirts may have META/SCCBC URL on back for advertising. Felim Power gave a short report on the Sedan Race: Felim or Judy can answer any questions, 576-5824. Discussion regarding on-track times and scheduling Historian Report by Ron Curties · SCCBC has held races at Cassidy airport near Nanaimo in the past, sponsored by the Cassidy Air Club. Gray Field at Ft. Lewis in Washington State hosted weekend races to encourage the men to stay on base in order to "protect" the local young women from them. · Stanley Park, UBC, and the PNE were all at one time or another considered as race venues. · SCCBC's first event was a hill climb up Grouse Mountain's "Mountain Hwy". · "Mud Runs" were common in Coquitlam, Burnaby and Surrey. TOC Report by Bryan Helevang · Thanks to the 20 people who showed up for the work party on 17 June. The transponder antenna cables need a protective box installed. James McComber offered the use of a generator for the work party. Brian Meakings noted the berry bushes continue to be a problem at Turn 4. The speakers in the hot pit lane are not working properly. Aug 16/17 Pre-Molson Indy Test day - se Curt Storms · Safety checks on cars must be done before they go out on the track. Some of the Motocross club people are causing unsafe conditions. Treasurer · Collected $3,800 in bad credit card debts. · $3,754 from bad cheques still to be recovered, and have been promised. Vice President Report by Terry Ward · Old trophies have been return by Moneca Kolvyn and turned into cash. · "Marshal" rides will be needed at the next race. · Paddock/Pit assignments were a problem.
