Its has come to my attention and I am sure it has come to most of yours that Seattle is cancelling their Endurance race at the beginning of the 2012 race season.
I would like to know what the General feedback would be if SCCBC would host a 4-6 hour Enduro at the beginning of the upcoming race season in March or April.  The last few years Seattle race ways has put this event on in March.
Who would participate? Who would not?  And the big question why or why not?
How much support is there from SCCBC, META, club members from all around, and racers?

I'm in the process of prepping my first car for IP and would probably not be ready for an enduro race that early in the season.  But would be all over it in principle, possibly late in the 2012 season, or 2013 for sure.

Just curious (I've never been to an enduro race) - how does refuelling get handled?  Can people carry enough fuel for 4-6 hours of racing without adding fuel?

Sad to hear, we were planning on going to Seattle again this year.  I'd say there's a 50-50 chance we would run in an enduro at Mission.

One of the strongest draws for us going to Seattle was the chance to get a lot of time on an unfamiliar track.  Little bit less of a draw for Mission as we're typically out every race weekend anyway.  This might make the Portland race a "must do" event for us this year.

I'd enter it.  A 6hr is most appealing to me.  Anytime of the year would be fine in my books.

We're in. Lots of seat time......lots of fun. Mission however..... lots of brakes......extra tires......what the heck.....start with 4 hrs. then a 6 hr. find which one fits MRP. It seems to work for Chumpcar. We're up for a 6hr. first kick!  

We're in.  Even the 21 cars that were in Portland would pretty much fill Mission.  Can't imagine it with 40  ???

A Spring Enduro To Replace Seattle if its not going to happen ,, would give us some entries  .. And i Need a reason to bring out the Toyota

Cris, Ill build an enduro car over the winter, so the question is .. how would you do going from fwd to rear ??

Since we have a "White Board" to start with this proposed Enduro, I'd like to put a couple of suggestions forward to make the event economical and possibly more competitive.

1) Mandatory Pit Stops - Timed stops of perhaps 2 (or 3 or ??) minutes in a 10 minute window, 5 minutes on either side of the top of every hour.  (This should end up in the need for less crew as multi-car teams could use the same fuel and fire bottle people)
2) Mandatory Driver Change - For every Pit Stop.
3) Fuel - Only one 5- gallon jug of fuel over the wall at a time.  No fuel towers, no speed jugs.  (we could "borrow" some of the rules from Chump Car)

A 4-hour race combined with a couple of hours of open practice/testing would hopefully be a big draw even if it were run under full Wet Coast spring sunshine :-)

No problem , did a portland enduro in a RX7, My driving is really fly by the seat of my pants , hit and miss  ;), mostly miss.

I was however the overall enduro champion back in the day when I had a little more hair :P . Not sure how I pulled that one off. LOL Maybe my co driver

The Beast is a definite possibility but a PRO3 would be a lotta fun too  ;D

 We do have complete enduro rules . I will see if there is a link to them somewhere.

SCCBC executive have approved a 4hour enduro race at Mission for the 2012 race season. Date is still pending at the moment, but the race will happen in April.

This is big for Mission raceway and, SCCBC as there has not been an endurance race for several years.

Get your cars and teams ready for this event.

Here's hoping that the regulations stipulate a minimum entry of at least 20 cars on the grid. Otherwise it's going to be standing around watching nothing happen for four hours.

Just rec'd a note via SOVREN that Pacific Raceways is putting on a 2 day Enduro March 10 & 11. (not a SOVREN event).

"The Roll-X - 16 hr"

Looks very much like a chump-car type event.
