Just a reminder to all drivers entering this weekend's Conference race:
Rule 1105.B.4 SFI belts have two years from date of manufacture (DOM) before they expire, FIA belts have five years. Rule 1105 D (page 41) calls for "all helmets shall conform or be equal to a 2005 or later Snell Foundation specification". No exceptions that I'm aware of. |

I recall being told at the beginning of this season that 2000 helmets were still legal, is this not so? ???

Also FIA belts have the year they expire printed on them and can be used 'till the end of that year, is this correct?

SCCA and ICSCC require SA2005 or newer helmets.
CACC allows SA2000 or newer. ICSCC has the same rules as CACC regarding the SFI rated restraint harness. Max life is two years to the month they were made in. The FIA harness have a tag on every belt that says"not valid after". Could be five years or more.I have seen FIA harness that are valid to the end of 2017. The next event is ICSCC so check your helmets. |

Can Canadians run a conference licence?

Not a question for the Tech Inspectors, Colin. That's not in our area of expertise.
I apologise for the slight confusion over the FIA belts, that's what happens when you write these things at 5:00 in the morning. |

Yes a Canadian can enter an ICSCC sanctioned event using an ICSCC license.

So ICSCC requires a newer helmet but no head and neck restraint! ::). No wonder novices get confused :-/.

Your head will be fine; your neck, not so good :-/.

New helmet technology does not support your head or neck. It protects against impact.

Does it do anything for my humor?
