Title: Parts store where?
Post by 542 on Oct 14th, 2012 at 2:40pm
Hello
I recently purchased some Koni Sport adjustable struts but they didnt come with any dust boot covers. The Eibach springs are about 2.5" inside diameter and cant find anything to fit nicely inside without bunching. I've tried the usual auto parts stores (Lordco,Napa) but they only carry original equipment stuff. Any suggestions on who might carry this? I purchased the struts from Summitracing.com and they could only suggest a massive truck boot and then cut it down. I'm sure there is a product made for these normal struts (mounted on volvo 240) just cant find it yet. A local shop would be nice... Tried Dales in Langley and they said they dont carry any parts, try Lordco....

Thanks for your help
G

You might try Ron Brown at Competition Motorsports in Portland or Andy Collins at Armadillo Racing in Bremerton.

Can you post a link or a part number to the struts you got? I've never seen 2" springs on a 240 that weren't someone's custom doing, usually without a dust cover..

There's a guy in WA that does a lot of Volvo suspension stuff for rallying, he might have an idea for the dust boot covers - CALL +1 206 431-9696, make sure you have plenty of time as you'll be on the phone a while!

Thanks for the replys.
Sorry they are 2.5" inside diamater Eibach springs (10" height, 300lbs) sitting on Kaplhenke coilovers.
Struts are Koni 8641-1245SPT.

I went to North Shore offroad today http://www.nsor.com/ and bought some boots for a princely $3.50 each  :) and they look like they'll fit just fine. Was thinking about the truck boot suggestion from Summitracing and went to north shore offroad to take a peek, helpful bunch of guys. Haven't fitted them yet to the strut but they certainly fit fine through the springs.

Thanks for the suggestions.
