wanted to know if any one has any first hand experience with the nitto nt01. main thing i would like to know is how long a set will last you?

Short Answer.....
RA1 would be about 5-7 weekends

Long Answer.....
The tire wear is dependent on so many things that is almost impossible to say. 
- FWD to RWD
- track you are running at
- Driving style / car setup

That said I ran the NT01 compared to the RA1 about 3 years ago on an Integra.  The RA1 was a clear winner in my mind for tire wear and grip.  That said I had spent a bunch of time getting the car setup right and had used the RA1 through that process.  At the time I was told the Nito was a copy of the RA1 but that was not my personal experience. 

The RA1 is hard to beat in my mind for the best compromise between grip and life. 
- You can get a tire that has better for grip
- You can get a tire that has better life

It is hard to find a tire that has better life and grip from an RA1. 

Another comment on the tire life is that I could run the RA1 down to the cords on the Integra and now that I run a Pro3 (E30) I have to watch as they can heat cycle out and be junk before the cords show.  Different car....  different behavior.
