I've just mounted my bottle in the trunk of my car, and am planning to run a single line down the car, along the driver side floor. I will then be put a 3-way connector somewhere near the firewall, splitting the line for the cockpit and engine bay.

Is this a good idea, or should I have the 3 way connector at the bottle, and run two lines instead of one. Every diagram I see shows the 3 way connector at the bottle, so I'm not sure if there are rules of fluid dynamics I'm not aware of (2 lines = better flow?). Does anyone have experience with this?

I believe you're on the right track. Having said that, you may wish to consult the people who sold you this equipment. They may have some input that's worthwhile considering.

I went away and slept on this and have a suggestion. If you have a total of four nozzles available it would likely be wise to have one in the compartment containing the fuel cell, one in the driver's compartment and two in the engine bay.

What type of suppression are you using? AFFF (my preferred) or halon?

Ya, it's an 4.25 liter OMP AFFF system. It come with 6 nozzles, but I'm hesitant to put one so far away from the other nozzles (don't know if it'll lower the pressure too much, too early). I was thinking of adding one near the shifter, in case this happens: http://youtu.be/ww9cFE3lKcA

I understand putting one nozzle on ME but not two . Here is my logic , The fire system need to be activated so this means you are probably capable of getting out of the car. The one spraying on me is just going to give me a few more seconds to get out .

The more nozzles you put in the faster the bottle will drain I would rather have fewer nozzles and let them spray for a bit longer

From the 2013 SCCA GCR:
4. There shall be a minimum of two nozzle locations–one in the
driver’s compartment and one in either the engine area or the
fuel cell area. The nozzles shall be suitable for the type of
extinguishing agent used.

I would think that this is the minimum that you should shoot for.
