Any one know of gossip to do with a potential "24 corner" race track that could be built on Osoyoos Indian Band land ?

I had a meeting with Chief Clarence Louie this afternoon and he has confirmed what I have "heard" .

I am invited to the meeting with the press next weekend with Jacque V. and will advise further after that official announcement.

A country club type of situation .

By now several of you will have seen the story on Global Vancouver. I can advise that some 100 folk were in attendance at the public meeting on Sunday afternoon , I think more from the Porsche club then others. Several nice cars in the parking lot, Lambos, etc.
I believe that another meeting takes place on Tuesday in Vancouver.
Our local blog, www.Oliverdailynews.com ; covers the story better then I could tell it, you may have to scroll down and go to "older news" to see the stories about the proposal .
Bill Drossos did mention the possibility of hosting an SCCBC race and a Vintage race in the future but at this stage all is pie in the sky . Mind you, $35,000. and $5,000. per year are no longer prohibitive amounts to many .
Chief Louie and the O.I.Band will not let "a shovel in the ground" until 200 are signed and committed.

Phase 4 is calling for Timing and Scoring, grandstands, and other fan related stuff. That looks to me like they want to be able to host real racing at some point. I have serious doubts they'll get to Phase 1, much less Phase 4, but I hope they prove me wrong.

I met with Bill Drossos today and he indicated that all is proceeding as planned. Final survey of the ppty. should be completed today and track layout can then be determined. Expecting approx. a 3 mile circuit . He said that memberships should total about 50 by January , and that is certainly a good start.
Expect another former Canadian driver or two to have some involvement with this .

Time will tell .
