Post by Doug Floer on Oct 30th, 2013 at 1:12pm
The Sports Car Club of BC’s Formula Ford drivers group is presenting an open house on Saturday, November 23, to introduce anyone with an interest in Formula racing to the local Formula Ford racing scene. The open house will feature a selection of recent and classic open wheel cars including Tiga, Crossle and Van Diemen formula racers. Presentations will be provided on a variety of topics including the “History of Formula Ford Racing”, “Why Choose Formula Ford”, “Acquiring and Operating a Formula Ford” and “Formula Ford Maintenance”. And, of course, refreshments will be served. Mark your calendar for this fun event, come and meet some long-time racers and be prepared to hop in the cockpit of some of these timeless open wheel race cars.

Date: Saturday, November 23, 2013
Time: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Place: MCE Motors, 45895 Airport Road, Chilliwack
Directions: East on Highway 1 to Chilliwack, north on Yale Road West, east on Airport Road

If you know of anyone that has considered getting into racing this would be a good opportunity to meet a great bunch of guy's and see some cool formula ford's.

To find out why racing a formula ford makes the most financal sense to going fast. ;)

The open house is starting to shape up. Lots of cars to show. And now pizza is on the menu! If you're at all interested in low-cost open wheel Formula Ford racing, this is the event to see.

I am planning on renting one of my Open Wheel cars for a select group of racing enthusiasts next year.
If you are a senior driver or a novice come and discuss your 'racing career' with me at the Formula Ford Open House on November 23rd at MCE Motors in Chilliwack.

Everything is coming together nicely for the FF Open House. For those who attend this will give them some really great ideas for Santa this Christmas.
I can't think of anything better than a Formula Ford under the tree. ;D ;D ;D ;D

What we want under the tree is something with a long History & Pedigree (Formula Ford).

Libre is a mixed bag you never know what you get so if you want to run with the (Thoroughbreds) then you have to go with a FF  :o ;D

Considering it was in Chilliwack that probably wasn't hard to be the best show in town... :)

I'm glad to hear it went well.

I wanted to say that I was very impressed with the FF open house.  The room looked terrific with the space all cleaned up, lots of big pictures of FF action on the walls and display boards, five nicely prepared cars all lined up like a car show and really great hosts.  And don't forget the buffet!  The open house was lively with a good vibe.  The presentation was very informative and I bent the ears of several of the guys for much longer than I should have. Thanks Alan and Randy, and thanks also to Dave (I think that was the name) for letting me sit in his car.  That was a highlight of the evening.  It must have been good because my wife, who has nothing to do with cars and is against me going racing, actually enjoyed it.  Some sort of small miracle there.

Good show!
Ron

Thanks for the kind words, RadioRon. I was a pleasure to have you and all of those that came to find out more about the Formula Ford class or just to hang out and talk racing. For those of you who missed it, we'll see you at the 2014 Open House. In the meantime, you can see photos of the event at the SCCBC Gallery page.

This being the first Formula Ford open house it was a pleasant suprise to see how much interest there was in Formula ford. We will have another open house in 2014 for those how couldn't make it to this one.
It was a lot of fun seeing the guy's & gal's get in & out of the cars to see how they fit them with big smiles just wondering what it must feel like flying down the track at speed.
A big thanks to Felim & Doug for the great presentation it was informitive and well receive by everyone and thanks to the drivers for bring out their cars.
A special thanks to my wife Ann for helping us put on such a great display.

For those that couldn't make it out that are interested in getting involved in formula ford go to the ff website and drop us an email we will be glade to help. wwwformulafordbc.com

Thanks
Alan  ;)
