I just picked this off the internet.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2530681/Michael-Schumacher-brain-surgery-piste-skiing-accident-leaves-coma.html Obviously I can't tell just exactly how accurate this report is. Let's just say it does't look good. |

Wow that is quite the newspage. Alot of 'distracting' photos in the Right column
I hope Shcumi pulls through. |

Looking at the various news reports this morning I notice a couple of interesting things:
1. Schumacher was wearing a helmt which will possibly provide more information into the accident. 2. Ferrari and the Tifosi are out in force providing support and tributes. 3. Mercedes are nowhere to be seen in the crowd. I wonder why? |

For what it's worth, here's a reconstruction of Schumacher's accident:

Mike
Reference to your "Mercedes are nowhere to be seen..........." They have '#Keep Fighting Michael' on the side of their cars. |

The last I heard was the Mr. Schumacher was being slowly brought out of his coma, BUT, that he didn't seem to be responding. That was last week. Anyone heard anything since?

Nothing on any of the forums that would normally communicate this type of information. I suspect the family is purposely keeping a tight lid on things as things aren't looking positive. Other than his eyes blinking, no other news.

If this report is correct it points up the importance of the proper mounting of ANY hardware to your helmet |

That's the first time I've read that he fell '30ft.' but it would account for the severity of the injury.
Indeed, very sad :(. |

I don't know if it's been edited but when I read it, it said he fell and tumbled for 30 feet. I read that as falling and his momentum carrying him down the hill before he came to a stop.

When I heard that he had fallen 30ft I had to go back and watch the video that showed where he had gone ever so slightly off-piste for a few turns in the fresh snow. It obviously meant he had traveled 30 feet before he either impacted the rock or afterward. There was no where to "fall" 30 feet on that portion of the run. A very sad way to come to terms with one's mortality.

Please note that this is a bit speculative, but it isn't good news for Schumacker fans:

Global is reporting Shuey may be slowly waking up. I don't generally like to report unsubstantiated reports but I'm hoping this one is true.
