I was on Motorsport Reg to register i see that it is listed as Rivers Edge not Mission Raceway.
Was it not listed as Mission Raceway before on Motorsport Reg. Doesn't this just add to our identity problem. I don't think any of the Americans would identify us as Rivers Edge they do know it as Mission (Mission Raceway Park). If you are asked by the public where do you race i don't know of anyone that says Rivers Edge they say Mission. The sign on the road says Mission Raceway Park not Rivers Edge.
So my question is why would we not call it Mission Raceway on Motorsport Reg :-/

I've always thought "River's Edge Road Course at Mission Raceway Park" was too much of a mouthful, and difficult to remember for the public. Whenever I've been asked where I race, I say "Mission" and get immediate recognition as opposed to the blank stares I get if I ever say "River's Edge Road Course." I suppose the longer name makes it sound more exotic but, in a practical sense, and for simplicity and instant name recognition, MRP works better, IMHO.

Where are you guys seeing River's Edge? When I look at MSR it says 'Mission Raceway - Road Course'.

When i registered it came up as rivers edge.

Even PRN Ignition publishes it at Mission Raceway Park. Is "River's Edge" officially registered anywhere?

I thought River's Edge was the name of the road course, located inside 'Mission Raceway Park' - which like PRN describes, includes the dragstrip and the motocross thing, etc.

I seem to remember this discussion coming up a year or two ago? I like the River's Edge name, it's disctinct and describes a fairly unique feature of our track - but I also never use it in conversation, I always tell people I race at "Mission" (judging by my last couple of seasons, I should start saying I USED to race at Mission :D).

This morning, while I was printing off the schedule for next weekend, I observed that on the club's schedule of events under "location" the reference is made to River's Edge.

So, now we know who the culprit is.

I registered last night, I didn't see any reference to RE, Mission Raceway Park only.
Can't explain what Al saw (but he is over 50 now!). ;)

A few years ago Mike Kaerne had a motion passed that allowed River's Edge to be used internally by club members while Mission Raceway Park was to be used for the general public.

That explains it it's the mid 50's everything gets alittle fuzzy slow to react thanks Keith for pointing that out i never noticed it till now ;D

I also have a "pin" put out by SCCBC which has a map of thr track and says "Rivers Edge Road Racing".

Before 2011 that would have been fine; after that it should have been for 'internal' use.
