Title: Lotus Cup USA West Post by s2k on May 24th, 2014 at 3:15pm
Thought i would post about the Lotus CUP USA west series. I raced with SCCBC on and off for the past 5 years in a S2000 and have entered the Lotus cup series for the 2014 season. We are almost at the halfway point and it's been a really great time. So far we've raced at Buttonwillow, Chuckwalla Valley and, auto club speedway. Competition level has been decent, I had hoped the fields would be a little deeper but as we get to the bigger tracks it seems like it will get even better. We still have Laguna, Thunderhill, Sonoma and, Spring Mountain left to go.
More then anything the variety of tracks and the car it's self has been outstanding. If anyone is interested, before I bought a car and joined the series I did a arrive and drive with http://www.suspensionperformance.com/ they did a great job and their rental is a competitive car and the price was reasonable. here's the link to a recap video from round 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x43fJLLjajI if anyone has any questions feel free to send me a PM. |

That doesn't look like much fun; great cars, sunshine, interesting track. I'm not sure why you would want to do that for a year or two or three or........ ;).
Gary is driving the Lotus (which model do you have?) similar to the S2000? The 211's are the coolest lapping car; you can drive them on the street in the UK :D. Note to self (I must remember to buy a lottery ticket today). |

I'm in a elise. It's a spec series. Those 211's are fast but you need a budget that starts with a minimum of a 2 and has 6 digits in total + getting a car
It's surprisingly different then the S2000, 1000lbs lighter and the weight balance is 65/35 so once it starts to go it's a handful as you can see at about 2:36 in the video I posted. My best save ever. The next race is June 6th at the new 5mile Thunderhill track. I think there are 13 of us in these cars entered. should be fun. [/size] |
