Title: I wanna be a chumpcar - free caged shell.
Post by SSGTi on Apr 17th, 2016 at 7:50pm
I crashed my PRO3 car into the right side Jersey Barrier at the entry to T3 about 18 months ago, and have slowly been building up a new shell. I have stripped every useful part off the car. It is a caged shell and nothing more. It sustained a lot of cosmetic damage from the wall on the passenger side, and needs a new door, plus the B-pillar is tweaked.
The worst damage is the driver's side front shock tower and surrounding sheetmetal. The shock tower is pushed in to about 20 degrees of camber (good for Portland, ORP going the old direction as well as T1 and 5 at Mission) The firewall and floor are wrinkled, and the inner fender is torn away from the firewall in behind the fusebox.
The cage was not touched in the crash. It is a TIG welded cage with NASCAR bars both sides. There is a fuel cell frame for a 30 gallon 24" x 24" cell, and metal bulkheads between the trunk and the passenger compartment.

I kept the shell with the thought of going Chumpcar racing in my spare time. It's time to move on from that dream and make some space for new projects.

I think this would be a great starting point for a Chumpcar, if you're an E30 guy. It's not for the faint of heart, as there is some structural repair to the shock tower that would be needed to make it safe.

If you want it, come get it. I can load it with a forklift onto a flatdeck or open trailer.
FREE for the taking.
The only caveat is I want it gone by May 10th at the latest.

So that somebody can comment that it will buff right out...

Thanks Keith Robinson for directing Curtis my way, and for all who inquired.
The shell is now gone!
