Title: Augie Pabst at Pacific Raceways
Post by oldtransamdriver on Jun 22nd, 2010 at 6:09pm
There is a special guest at the SOVREN Historics July 2-4 at Pacific Raceways this year.  None other than Mr. "Meister Brauser" of Scarab fame will be in attendance.

Not sure if he ever raced at PR in the early sixties, but he was still vintage racing his Scarab as of a few years ago.  I saw him race a few times "back in the day" at some of those eastern tracks, and was lucky enough to meet him at registration during the Brian Redman RA event a few years ago.

Google up "Scarab and Augie Pabst jr."

I do not recall seeing him at "Kent" or other NorthWest tracks

back " in the day "  Not even the USRRC races of the very early 1960's.  I have not yet to this day seen a Scarab and the only Mk 1 Jim Hall "Special"  I have seen is his Serial No. one.  Did see the later, rear engined Marks of course, at Kent.I did get introduced to (now the late) Chuck Daigh  at Laguna Seca  by Vince Howlett in 2007.  Quite a thrill in its own way.
