Sorry Tracey, when I saw it up on YouTube I assumed you would be ok if I put a link here.

I can remove it if you'd like.

I can't recall ever seeing a rear hub break like that, could it have been rusty (and them fatigued) that car was from out of BC wasn't it Jordy? :'(
Thank goodness you had some good years before this one;
we have all had years like your 2011 Jordy; keep your chin up! ;)

Yes, it was rusty and looks like it developed fatigue cracks.  Ontario car.  Lesson learned on leaving hubs be on a car of that age and condition.

This year does seem to be the year of expensive lessons.  On the other hand, both incidents could have been much, much worse than they turned out to be.  I still don't know how I didn't end up in the wall in 6 last weekend.  And if that hub had let go in, say, corner 9?  Don't want to think about that one.  If the fire I had flared up around corner 3 instead of corner 7, I might not even have a car to race in.  I might not even be racing, for that matter.

I'm not happy about this years carnage, but I *am* happy that I am hale and whole still.

I can only agree with everything you said, some bad luck but mixed with some fortunate outcomes!
You have a great attitude and I hope you finish the year with two successful weekends.
