Title: Sad Sad News
Post by bunracer on Feb 15th, 2012 at 10:58am
I don't really want to be the one to post this nor am I sure I should be, but I have just been informed through my associates that Robert Currie has passed away. I can't tell you how shocked and saddened I am from this news. My most heartfelt condolences to his family.

Yes, I was told this just before lunchtime.

It is very, very sad. Robert was a fine man, an excellent member of our club, an excellent Clerk of the Course, and an all around really good guy.

He will be greatly missed.

Mike

I've place an 'In Memorium" on the front page of the website. Please check it out and press the 'play' button. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Rest in peace my friend.

Robert Currie was a true and faithful friend. He was on the executive of SCCBC when we built the track at Mission. He was on the remarkable SCCBC team at Indy. At many times he was not only my right hand, he was also my left. And he was not shy about telling me that was so.
I can not imagine our sport without him, our club without him, our lives without him. Any race day that he missed, he was conspicuous by his absense. We all missed him. He would be embarrassed if he told him so.
We will still be looking for him every race day. We can not say goodbye. There are too many memories that will keep us together.
Love Pam and Ray

We will always remember Robert for his Scottish vernacular, the Dinoccino machine, his calm and logical approach as an authoritative figure and, of course, his warm and cheery easy-come-easy-go disposition.

Piper down.

Sincerely, our thoughts are with the Currie home.

I can't imagine a race without Robert, he will be missed but never forgotten.
Another Track Angel to watch my (our) back.
My thoughts are with all his friends and family.

RIP Robert,  You are a great guy and competitor.  I remember those enduro days at Mission when you and your smiles in the pits and I be standing next to you at drivers meetings have to look up at you. Way UP!  You are a great ambassador to racing and will be greatly missed.
