Title: Car weights
Post by Mike_the_Oldest on May 20th, 2014 at 8:40am
I've been approached by a few folks who are unable to establish the weight of their car from the workshop manual. We've run across this before on occasion. I'm almost certain that, besides the original ICBC registration, there's a method of doing this. I'm just not sure where the information is stashed. a wbsite or something?

Does anyone have a clue and be prepared to share it with us?

Thank you

I'm one of those people!  :)

I have checked a number of sources on the net and all have the same curb weight for my particular car make/model/year.

Would this info be enough to satisfy tech?

One of the most acceptable sources is the ICBC registration. At some point last year someone, and I can't remember who, came up with that information. That's the quickest and is very acceptable. If you find it, PRINT OFF a copy for your logbook.

Also acceptable would be information from the shop manual, but that's not always included. Something from a manufacturer's webpage might be OK, but it's not always available, either. Especially for older cars (more than two or three years).

Still open to reasonable suggestions.
