The current documents on the CACC rules page that cover expiry of SNELL certified helmets are all dated 2016, including the GCR and the bulletin on recognzied helmet starndards.  They still allow SNELL 2005 labelled helmets.  When is it likely that SNELL 2005 is no longer accepted for Race?

I have asked this question of CACC local executive; answer, the word comes from Toronto and nobody is saying.
This should be the last year, in my opinion (and it is only my opinion) twelve year old helmets should not be allowed at race tracks.
Seat belts, arm restraints, window nets and FIA seats all have expiry dates of five years or less but helmets are over ten years ::). I find that a little illogical.

The FIA says that the Snell SA2005 helmets are valid until the end of 2018. Like this or not the FIA is an organization that we belong to.

Note for ICSCC events, SNELL2010 or newer standard helmets required.

That means SNELL2010 is a must for the Conference weekend Sept 1-4, so I guess we'll be shopping for a new helmet this year.
