Here's a 11 min. 55 sec. video of the 2010 Monterey Reunion (or whatever they're calling it). Film is from a Forumla Junior. The guy drives the whole race and gets taken out near the end by someone else's accident. But, since he's driving at a "sedate" pace, it gives you a very good idea of the track.

Not that front engined F-Jr cars are a lot slower than rear engined ones.

Your guy is doing 2.07's.
Check out this guy in the Lotus 22-he is doing 1.47's! http://youtu.be/9U7S5gPTn00
By comparison Bob Williams was doing 1.57's in the No Borders 1990 Civic Chumpcar Shocked.

A rear-engined, disk-braked Lotus 22 is going to be considerably quicker than a front-engined, drum-braked Huffaker. Also, the Lotus 22 would probably have an 1100 cc motor, while the Huffaker (which is a very good engine) would likely be a 998 cc.

That would account for some of the difference.

Throw in skinnier tires, more agressive driving capabilities and you can see why.
