Looking for a lathe
Apr 19th, 2012 at 6:42am

As if I wasn't busy enough, I picked up machining as a hobby haha.

I sold my small Chinese bench top lathe last weekend, in preparation for picking up an awesome deal on a Clausing lathe. Turns out I missed it by a couple of hours. Bah!

I know our members are a very resourceful bunch, so if anyone hears of any good lathes for sale in the lower mainland, please get in touch. I'm looking for something with a 9-15" swing, length of bed is not a big deal but might be best to stay under 5ft. I'd prefer an older lathe (South Bend, Clausing, Logan, Atlas, that sort of stuff..) in good condition over a newer chinese lathe, but if you hear of anything, let me know and I'll look into it!

Trying to keep the budget around $1000 but for the right machine and depending on what comes with it (extra chucks, rests, fancy tool posts, etc..) who knows?

Message me here or call me on 604 727 2045..
Cheers!
Tiago

I'm now the proud owner of a nice 12x40" Clausing lathe. It's a beauty!
