License eligibility
Apr 7th, 2013 at 4:16pm

I am a Westwood Karting Alumni thinking of getting back into the action! Was going to do my DT and Novice licence in June and was looking over the CACC rules and regs when i see it says that being diabetic can prevent you from obtaining your competition license. I've been diabetic now for over ten years with NO complications. Is this going to be an issue for me? Or is it based on your doctors assessment?
Thanks for any insight.
I'm sure some of us racers are aware of what Charlie Kimball is doing with the "Race with Insulin" campaign!

Hi Scott;

You will first need to complete the CACC medical exam with your doctor, then if CACC has any concerns they may refer you to our track doctor for his evaluation. Not being in the medical profession I can't tell you what issues there may be, but if you come out this coming weekend, you can chat with our track doctor and get his opinion on it.

I hope it all works out for you, and you can come out and play. If not, we are always looking for people such as yourself to help us out on race weekends. We have so many different types of jobs to do that I'm sure we would find something that you will enjoy.
