I mean it’s been in a race car so it has a few nicks in the finish but it works fine.   If you have never tried to improve your lap times with data you don’t know what you are missing.  The data is the next best thing to having a driving coach in the passenger seat.  It does not lie and the software that comes with the dl-1 is easy to use and setup.  It can calculate your best lap, best rolling lap, best theoretical lap based on measured data, braking points, grip, corner speed.  It uses a compact flash card to store the data so you can transfer it to the laptop for review at the end of the session. You can set up multiple sectors and view the track map with your data overlaid to review lines and speeds in the corners.

You can upgrade and add on to the system if you like as well.  Race Technology offers dashes to display the data, you can upgrade to add video overlays from a gopro camera or you can add a video system from Race Technology.   

The hardware has 13 external inputs for measuring wheel speed or temperatures and pressures with an external sensors.
