Better communication to the racers...
Jul 16th, 2015 at 8:25pm

I'm sure that most of us racing this weekend have seen the same message we received via email on Wednesday:

"NOTICE

SCCBC has a Track Rental on Friday, July 17th

This NOTICE is to advise EVERYONE that there

will be NO MOVE IN BEFORE 5:00 p.m."

And that's good information to know.

But...

...it seems to me that there's not really any likelihood that this track rental was booked on Wednesday of this week.

So why not tell us about it sooner?

Personally, I wasn't planning on trying to move in before 5pm anyway, but if other people were, then, relatively speaking, at the last minute, they will have had to change their plans.

I won't pretend to know what reasonable notice would be for certain, but if the rental was on the books last week, I think I would have let those registered for "Race for the House" know last week.

Just my 2 cents, etc.

I think most of us have been racing at Mission long enough to know that if the Friday isn't a practice day then it's probably rented and there's no access until the renter is done.

Just my 2 cents..

Hello. You can arrive earlier than 500 pm but you will have to wait in the parking lot till the renter vacates and the personal are in place with the waiver.

Just so everyone is aware, for the rest of the season, there will be no access until 5PM on the evening before a race event. this applies to the Vintage Historics event as well.

The top line of the schedule published for the event, which was published online with the race announcement says "Friday: Gates 5PM".
