I just had word from Dennis that Raie Howlett passed away peacefully this afternoon. His son, Lawrence, was with him. Raie had Alzheimers and had been slowly  deteriorating.

Old time club members will remember the Howlett clan from the earliest days of Westwood. They helped build Westwood and were among the original debenture holders. Raie was the corner marshall in Turn 1 for many years. Later, when his son Lawrence joined the Honda series, Raie was there to pit crew for him.

Raie had a wonderful smile and a great personality and really enjoyed life. RIP Raie.
