GT1 Race Car for sale
Nov 3rd, 2016 at 6:49am

Selling my 79 track car. Anybody who has built or is building a track car knows that to do it right takes time and money.
This car has both put into it.
I started with a solid 79 chassis, stripped it down to a tub and built it from the ground up. All the undercoating was removed, engine, suspension, electrical, dash, doors, hatch, everything. The interior, under carriage and engine compartment cleaned and painted, ( exterior is original paint).
-Professionally installed DOM tubing roll cage with door bars installed. The cage extends into the engine compartment and ties to the shock towers. Door bars both have the top tube removable for service work.
-Installed 15 gal Fuel Safe cell with dual pumps and access panel with Dzus fastners for filling.
-Cold Fire onboard fire system installed with actuator at shift tunnel, nozzles in engine compartment, interior and under car at rear at fuel cell.
-All glass replaced with custom Lexan panels blacked out at edges and Nascar style braces at front. Doors gutted and modified to be able to easily install factory glass for towing and storage
-Wiring removed and custom harness intstalled with brake and tail lights, engine compartment wiring minimised and rewired for guages and ignition. Kill switch installed in passenger compartment that shuts engine and electrical off. Custom easy access labeled fuse panel installed in passenger comp. Relays on all critical circuits.
- Custom front splitter formed from aluminum sheet, with Dzus fastner mounting and brake ducts installed. Easy on- off for trailering and service.
-Headlights removed and blocked off, signals and corner lights removed and blocked off.
-Electric fan with aluminum shroud installed
-Suspension rebuilt with later upper A arms for more camber and lower arms with new ball joints. Devek front sway bar and custom adjustable rear swaybar.
Leda adjustable coilovers with optional rate springs.
-Brembo Black brakes rebuilt and installed with stainless lines all 4 corners. Brake proportioning valve installed on trans tunnel.
-Custom gauge cluster installed, loaded with Auto Meter sport comp gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temp and memory Monster tach.
-Modified defroster with factory fan for rain races and windshield wiper retained.
-Full width "wink" rear view mirror.
-Kirkey aluminum race seat and 5 point harness, removable window net.
-4.5l CSI injected engine freshened and installed with headers and custom 3' exhaust. Wideband O2
-Later 4k $ spent fully rebuilt 5 speed transaxle with positraction and rebuilt torque tube installed. New mounts and axles.

Lots more small details and work done, hundreds of hours spent. Car was raced with no DNF's for 4 seasons. Easy to drive neutral handling car with just the right amount of oversteer.
Car is available with custom built 3 piece Kodiak rims and BBS 3 piece wheels depending on price
A conservative estimate of 15k to build plus time. Car is turn-key as last raced. Located near Vancouver BC
$ 10k
