Formula 1600 gearing for Mission
Jul 11th, 2019 at 5:03am

Hello, thinking about making the trip out to Mission for season final on Oct.12/13. Home track is Gimli (GMP). Any gear selection recommendations for my 85 VanDieman?

I'll send you my gearing; RF82.
There are a couple of variations, do you have 9/31 or 10/31 final drive?

My 85 Van Dieman has 9:31. Running either American Racer slicks or Avon Vintage tires. Both are officially listed at 22.3" tall.
I found a thread on Apexspeed that said
17:34 or      16:31
20:32 or      18:28
22:30 or      20:27
23:28 or      19:24
Actually lower gears than my home track of Gimli (GMP). (Or the recommendations on Apexspeed were for a 10:31)
   Glad to have your input.

Sorry for slow reply; I don't go on this sight very often.
Gearing you are showing is very close (I'm sure we all have slight variations but those will work fine).
On my LD200 with a 10/31 on AR tires I have:
17/34
19/32
17/25
23/29
Mission is tight track, hard on brakes, make sure you have fresh pads and well bled brakes with fresh fluid.
