Street legal racer?
Aug 26th, 2022 at 1:47pm

It's a long shot but I know someone interested in racing next year. For various reasons it'd have to be something they can drive to/from the track. What do you suggest? Can Miatas do this?
Thanks
Rob

Be aware that a legal safe racecar will not be street legal... you might not get in trouble immediately, but an impound is highly likely if you get pulled over with harnesses/cage/no airbags/etc.  Can also imagine big problems if you were ever in an accident.  Best bet is to do either HPDE with your street driven car or get a racecar and keep it off the street.

Yes Spec Miatas can do this with not too much messing around.  you will need to design the cage around leaving the factory seat belts in.  other then that theirs not any real reason you cant drive it on the road legally.

if you need assistance with a build or would like to rent a SM pleas feel free to contact me
