What percentage of performance and race driving is mental, and what percent physical? Almost all drivers answer this question by saying it’s more mental than physical. That’s not to take anything away from the physical challenges, but I think we all know that it’s your brain that’s driving your car.
With that in mind (no pun intended), what do you do to improve your mental game of driving? If you’re like the majority of drivers, you don’t do a lot, mostly because it’s not obvious what you should be doing! Mental training methods are not as well-known as physical fitness and skill development training. Coaching the mental game is my sweet spot, so I’m happy to announce that I’m conducting an Inner Speed Secrets Masterclass on June 25, July 2, and July 9. Yes, three sessions, and they’re not repeats of each other — instead, each one builds on the previous, so it’ll be around 6 hours of training. This is pretty much everything I have on the mental game, everything that I’ve used to coach Indy 500, Daytona 500, Le Mans, IMSA and club racing champions. And it all applies equally to any driver, of any level — especially you. As usual with my online webinars, if you’re unable to participate in the live sessions, no worries: everyone who registers gets access to the full recording of all 3 sessions — it’s yours to download, save forever, and access at any time. Kind of a one-time cost for something that will last you for the rest of your driving career (unlike those darn tires that wear out!). For more information, and to reserve a spot, go to SpeedSecrets.com/ISS-Masterclass. If… • Managing nerves, fear, red mist or confidence is important to you • You want to learn faster or sense the limits of your car better • Controlling your focus is a challenge • You want to be able to take advantage of visualization better • You’d like to get into the zone and perform more consistently at your best Then my Inner Speed Secrets Masterclass might just be the ideal thing for you. Keep learning and having fun! Ross
