Fuel Cell for GT1/GTO
Jan 21st, 2011 at 3:04pm

I have a question about Fuel Cells. I think I need to replace the fuel cell in the PortCity Late Model that I am converting to GT1/GTO. ATL and Fuel Safe say they are SFI and FIA approved which seems to comply with the GT Rules. My question is what documentation is required for Tech Inspection to verify the SFI or FIA certification for the cell. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi gambler,
I use an ATL 22 US gal cell in my GT1/GTO Trans Am.
It has been raced with that cell for 5 years now, and has the original painted spec and part numbers on it, and that's all I ever had.  It has passed tech in BC, WA, OR and Laguna Seca.  If I needed something else to prove it met a spec I guess I'd contact ATL.

Check the 2011 SCCA rule book. It lists all the needed info.
