Thanks!  I think the coverage has been very good.  There is an article in the Province today.  We have also been able to make some mention of CCGP, the club and the track.

Good interview Ryan, I thought you presented the idea really well; I'm sure MRP/SCCBC appreciate the 'plugs' Smiley.

Thanks Keith - trying to advance the cause of motorsport in general in BC.   Like Indy, this event will require the collaboration of many groups to make it successfull.  Mike told me yesterday that Indy had some 5-600 volunteers alone.  I hope that we can involve everyone in the process.

I don't believe you specified in your interview, but can you say which NASCAR series you're hoping to entice? NASCAR Canada's Canadian Tire Series?  Possibly the Nationwide series as in Montreal? I can't see the SPRINT Cup folks coming for a street race because a) SPRINT isn't sold here, b) there's probably not room on their calendar. It would be fun, but I don't think it could work.

Sprint Cup series, not a chance, Canadian tire series? I don't think it has enough draw to be a headliner. The nationwise series would be the target, It is big enough to justify the huge expense of this venture and has the recognizable names in the series to draw the sponsors and fans to the event. Good luck to Ryan and team.

Build it and they will come is my philosophy. NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the current headliner.  I think that once we have course approvals, other series will want to come.  People come to motorsports events for the spectacle - there are probably very few who actually follow the series in question.  Its about a summers day, fast cars and competitive racing. Lots of people will attend, buy tickets, food, beer and merchandise if they see the value and are entertained.

Good approach Ryan, and let's remember, NASCAR has controlling interest in Grand Am.

We will see where it goes.  I have had interest from 5 different support races and am accepting deposits to secure group spots in the schedule.

Several options for support races  I am sure.
One could be an Open Wheel race.  Mr. Williams can you say stable expansion.

But first things first, to what extent has the City of Surrey shown interest or better yet, offered a first level of commitment to favour such an event.

Michael -

I will give you a call about this - but for the record we have a written "expression of interest" from the city.
