There will be a special Group 9 race for the upcoming ICSCC "Labour Daze" race weekend, September 1-3.

This one is for bragging rights, and some cash!

Do you have what it takes to win?

Details are as follows:

2012 SCCBC  "Dash for Cash"

Open to all closed wheel cars eligible and conforming to ICSCC race regulations.

Entry fee of $75

Open only to first 30 entrants registered on MotorsportReg.

No practice or qualifying sessions.

75% of entry fee will be contributed to the prize fund.

Drivers will receive 2 pre-race warm up laps.

Race will be 10 laps with a staggered start (based on driver declared times - slowest released first) from the pit lane.

All Drivers will declare a fast-lap time which will be used to calculate start position and start release timing.

Any driver who posts a lap time faster than the declared time will be black flagged and disqualified.

Should a restart be required, cars will be released from the pit lane in intervals based on the last completed lap.

No on-board or external timing allowed.  Violators will be disqualified.

Drivers not exercising due caution during yellow flag situations will be penalized.

Prize payout

1st  - 40%

2nd - 27%

3rd - 16%

4th - 12%

5th  - 5%

Are you skilled enough to win a sprint?  Prove it!

Wink

There are no practice or qualifying sessions for this run group, and you cannot register for it on Motorsportreg unless you are registering for another run group. This entry is considered an additional entry. It's up to the Exec if they will allow it as an only entry, and I'm sure it will be priced differently.

A few more details regarding this race:

Entrants fast-lap times will NOT be made public.  You will submit this time at registration.  Fast-lap times will be checked against previous results for legitimacy.

Once registration closes, the starting grid will be determined and posted.

Cars will be released slowest to fastest (based on 10 lap multiplier) from the hot pit lane.

Any cars with matching fast-lap times will draw straws for release order.

Zero tolerance for anyone who breaks their posted fast-lap time.  You will be black flagged and DQ'd.

Your fast-lap time will be a very important choice as the difference between your time and the slowest car will be multiplied by 10.  So, if you post a time 10 seconds faster than the slowest car, you will be released 120 seconds after the slowest car.

Are you skilled enough to make up that difference?

FUN!!!

So......do you have what it takes?

Steve

For those of us that will be driving a new car this weekend, or possibly first timers to Mission, is it possible to declare a fast-lap time at the end of the day Saturday? Or perhaps up to the Registration deadline on Sunday morning would make more sense.

Kieth,

Are those lap times with or without overfilling the oil?

I'm looking for a little clarification as to how this is going to work:

It's a 10 lap race but there is a 12 lap multiplier.  Correct?
There are 2 warm-up laps.

Will we (hot?) pit after the warm-up laps, then receive the staggered start after that?  Or will the release for the warm-up laps be staggered, then we will essentially be racing under the yellow for the first 2 laps?

Rod.

Sorry, the references to 12 laps was a mistake, it's a 10 lap race.

The two warmup laps DO NOT count towards the 10 lap race.  Once the warmup laps are complete, cars will enter the hot pit lane and be organized slowest to fastest, with slowest at the front.

Once the first car is released, the race is on, and the rest of the field will be released at intervals based on the difference in lap times, multiplied x 10.

As the race is not until Sunday afternoon, posted lap times must be submitted by the close of Registration on Sunday morning.

All entrants must enter a regular run group in order to enter this event.

REMINDER - Only the first 30 cars registered will be accepted.

Steve

So, for the cars being released, the race for them begins in pit lane. Should make turn one blending interesting.  Shocked
