Race car weight mins vs published weights
May 15th, 2014 at 11:11am

Would the min. race car weight required, be the same as the published weight of the production based car for that year and model? (ip3) Having trouble finding this info. Thanks for any insight!  Smiley

NO!!!!

Weights vary from model to model and from year to year. We've had RX-7, for example, show up with a couple of different applicable weights.

If you're looking for the weight to use, I suggest you look at the ICBC registration for your car. Also, the weights and measures section of the shop manual (which is required). Some, but not all, shop manuals do not have the weights  in them. If you can get the ICBC registration weight then apply the IP rule you'll be fine.

If you're in doubt, e-mail me.
