tech inspection - March driver training?
Mar 3rd, 2011 at 11:30am

I remember last year (when I did my driver training) people were getting their cars inspected at the track on the same weekend. Is there a plan to do this again this year?

Cheers Smiley

its best to bring the car the weekend before incase any repairs are required. some people from out of town cannot bring the car the week before.

I think unxetas may have been asking about getting an annual tech inspection done.

We will be at Driver's Training on Sunday and will be available to provide annual inspections. Hopefully, more folks will take advantage of this than in the past.

Hehe re-reading my post, i realized I wasn't clear - yup I did mean annual tech, not for the actual driver training.

Thanks Mike, I will be there unless something goes very wrong between now and then Smiley

Don't forget to bring all your driving gear, as well.

How else would I drive the FV to the track?

Since we are on the topic.........the car should be in "race-ready" condition correct?

My car is street legal, I drive to/from the track minus numbers and race tires, so does it matter what type of tires are on the vehicle at time of inspection, or does it just matter that there are tires?  Wink

Cheers,

Jay

We (TECH) are specifically interested in the safety equipment. That is we want to see your driver's suit, helmet, HANS device, etc. We also will want to ensure that the rollcage structurre meets the requirements for the class. And, the fire extinguisher/suppression system is properly installed (if required).

We won't need to see your race wheels and tires, so you can leave those at home.

Thanks

Mike

The Cacc scrutineers will be available on the Sunday for Annual Tech from 1 - 4 PM. We will also be able to issue new log books. The cars need to be ready to race. A few items that will be we will be looking at are:
Safety equipment installed, pictures in the Log Book, two passenger side intrusion bars installed in the roll cage (required for all closed wheel cars in 2011) and the general preparation of the car regarding the class it will run in. Ask questions before you bring the car to the track.

Is there a Tech Inspection in April prior to the 15th Track Day? I have a new car that needs to get checked out for the first time.

I'm still planning to tech the car at the driver training weekend, but I'm now working 12-14 hour days and starting to worry that I won't have time to finish the small little things that need finished before I can tech the car. Argh.

How hectic do things get on Friday before the first race? Any other options for getting the car checked out?

I really want to get it over and done with on the 27th, just checking.

By the way - I bought my car last year, came with the previous owners' logbooks. Reading through them, it seems that when it changed hands in 2005, the new owner was issued a new logbook. Is that something he might have asked for, or should I, as a new owner, get a new one as well?

Thanks Smiley
