Update: May 6, 2020

Hello Everyone,

We recognise how desperate the membership is to get back to racing, but we hope you and your families are well during this time first and foremost.

With that, your executive has made another hard decision to cancel CACC #3 in June and postpone Driver Training. As you may have heard, the VRCBC has cancelled the BCHMR scheduled for August 15/16 at MRP. Which means, we’re tentatively planning to use the August 15/16 weekend as a new Driver Training weekend – more detail to follow as we learn more in the coming weeks.

As for the May club meeting, we plan to send the members an email update as to the club’s activities and you can expect to see an update from your club officials next week.

Kind regards and be safe,

Your SCCBC Executive

April 8, 2020

Hello Everyone,

As you’re aware, March Driver Training was postponed and all planned events scheduled for the month of April were cancelled. As communicated earlier, we wanted to provide this membership with an update on May’s schedule nearer the end of April, but your executive have felt it is best to cancel all race and rental activities for the month of May at this time.

I would ask the membership to understand how difficult it was to arrive at this decision, but also ask to understand that this committee is doing such with the best intentions for all members.

Support your neighbour by being a neighbour and support your friends and family – we’ll be back at it before you know it!

To All Club Members:

There will be NO Club Meeting on April 8th, it has been cancelled.  You will receive an update from the executive departments on that day, in an email blast.
Just to let you know, the Minutes of the AGM, February 12th, have been amended and are now posted on the website.

The SCCBC executive has been monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic closely.
Recently, we made you aware of the decision to postpone the March Driver Training event and since that time your executive have been in discussions about what the oncoming months may reveal.
The fact is the spread of this virus is continuing and federal, provincial and health officials continue to update the population and are actively employing measures to prevent further contagion.
As such, effective immediately, all operations will cease. Track maintenance and similar activities may continue as these are socially distant activities that are well within the order placed upon all British Columbians.

At this time, all 2020 scheduled activities posted by the SCCBC and all track rentals for the month of April have been cancelled. We are hopeful the health officer may lift the order early and are hoping the risk to public safety improves drastically for everyone’s health.
Near the end of April, if the situation has not improved and the order remains in play until the end of May, the executive will provide you with more information.

Best wishes and stay healthy,
Your SCCBC Executive
