Who Are the SCCBC?
The Sports Car Club of BC is proud to be the oldest sports car club in Canada and among the oldest on the continent. The SCCBC was incorporated in 1951 as a non-profit society and is dedicated to the promotion of motorsport and safe driving in British Columbia. The club is a member of the FIA road race sanctioning bodies in Canada and the USA. Our members are race drivers, crew members, event officials, fans, and their families and friends.
While there is no age restriction on becoming a member of the club, our race drivers range in age from 16 to 80. Our membership comes from all walks of life and include professionals, mechanics, tradespeople, clerks, students and homemakers.
The SCCBC boasts over 300 members, with some 30 senior members having enjoyed club membership benefits for more than 30 years. Our drivers are supported at the race track by mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, sons and daughters, in many cases, grandchildren.
Why Join the SCCBC?
Many of our members join the club because belonging to an affiliated club is a requirement for obtain a racing licence. The majority have stayed with the club because they enjoy armchair racing as much as on-track competition. Members find the camaraderie one of the most rewarding benefits of membership. It is commonplace to find racers sharing secrets to help their competitors become faster. The more competition, the more fun it is for all!
Like other grassroots associations, the SCCBC prospers solely through the strength and commitment of its membership. Our members work hard toward a common cause and are rewarded with a better place to race and friends that last a lifetime. Come and join us.
