The Race Drivers Committee of the Sports Car Club hosted the Spring Race Driver Training program. There were 26 students who participated in this class. We had our first Zoom classroom which allowed the students to attend this part of the course from the comfort of wherever they happened to be. The jury is still out as to how this went when compared to the traditional in-person instruction. Due to the drop in Covid numbers we were able to resume in-car instruction. Both instructors and students appreciated this aspect which allowed instantaneous feedback and coaching. The group as a whole made steady improvement over the two days, taking in stride all the drills and exercises with speeds gradually increasing. By the time the final chequered flag fell, all students were driving with skill, precision and confidence. We look forward to welcoming some of these students at our upcoming race events as Novice Race License holders. Thanks to all the Instructors and Volunteers who helped keep the event safe and enjoyable.
